Despite the fact we traveled with a changed line-up to the TCR Eastern Europe race weekend in Most, we scored the second highest points so far this year.
The TCR Eastern Europe championship continued with its fifth race weekend at Autodrom Most. Last year we celebrated Bartosz Groszeks title there, so we have great memories of the place. This year we had to go through some issues, because Tobias Poschik and Sebastian Steibel retired from the championship. The older blue Audi stayed without the driver. The newer one was driven by the Czech touring cars legend Petr Fulín.
Petr managed to get used to the car pretty fast and since the early beginning of the weekend he proved why he is the best touring car driver in the Czech republic. In the free practice he set the second best time, six hundredths of a second behind the fastest driver. In qualifying results his name was written where we wanted it to be written - in the first place.
In the beginning of race 1 Petr secured his first position after the overtaking attempt from behind and then he managed to stay in the lead with a constant gap. He finished the race first as expected. Radim started from 13th place and he was a part of a fighting group of cars. Later on he tried to overtake the opponent, but he missed the braking point in the first chicane and lost some time. At the end he managed to get back and after the penalty of three cars he was classified 12th.
The second race of the weekend was wet and our drivers started it from 7th and 12th place. After the red lights went off, Petr started to overtake cars to get as high as possible as soon as possible. The decisive moment came six minutes before the end of the race. Petr was 2nd and he wanted to take the lead, so he tried a surprising move in the first chicane. After the contact at the end of the manoeuvre he ended up with a broken car and he had to retire. Radim lost three places right after the start and from that point in time on he raced alone in 15th place. After Petr’s retirement he was classified in 14th.
Radim Adámek and Bartosz Groszek raced in the ESET Cup Endurance race again. Bartosz raced the first part and he enjoyed the fights with stronger cars. Radim took the car over in the first place and despite the weather getting worse and worse, he managed to end the race as 1st. The second team crossed the finish line one lap behind our drivers.
