The TCR Eastern Europe 2023 season turned into its second half.
Fourth event of this year, which took place at Slovakia Ring, brought another points for our drivers in overall standings. It was far from easy, though - no race was completely finished by all of our Audis.
Sebastian Steibel had the best starting position for the first race - it was 9th. Tobias Poschik stood 11th on the grid and Radim Adámek 14th. Unfortunately, the bad luck was there for Sebastian, who had to get back to the mechanics not even finishing the first lap. Tobias had a great getaway and even before the first turn he moved up the order to 7th place, which he defended until the end of the race. After a few hours, one of the drivers was disqualified from the race, so Tobias moved up to 6th. Radim also had a good start and in the first minutes of the race he moved up to 11th place. During the race, he was overtaken by a few opponents and, also due to a disqualification mentioned before, he ended up 12th, which has been his best result so far in the 2023 season.
In the beginning of the second race, Tobias perfectly used chaos in the first turn and he took over the lead of the race. Unluckily, the bad luck was there again - this time for our Austrian youngster. After a few turns he started to lose positions and before the race turned its half, Tobias had to retire from the race due to a gearbox defect. Radim lost some positions after the start from the 12th place and during the whole race he tried to overtake the driver in front of him. Unluckily, he didn’t manage to do that and he ended up 15th. The best result for our team in the second race was scored by Sebastian. He started from 17th place on the grid and he enjoyed a great chasing run finishing 8th.
Now the summer break is underway. The TCR Eastern Europe championship will be back at Autodrom Most on the first weekend of August.
