Also in our second race weekend with a still new Porsche we won some trophies. We claimed one second and one third place in an ESET Cup endurance race.
For a second time this year, we traveled to the Slovakia Ring, where the penultimate round of the ESET Cup took place. The Grand Prix of Slovakia with its August date is a guarantee of hot weather. This year though it was a bit extraordinary. The weather was extremely hot, which made staying in the car, but even outside of it more demanding than usually.
For this ESET Cup round, we decided to participate only until Saturday's night, which meant we ended the weekend with an endurance race. For this race, our team Radim Adámek and Bartosz Groszek claimed the first place on the grid in their class GTC1.
Saturday started with a sprint qualification, though. Radim was driving the car and he set the sixth fastest time in the class. The same position belonged to him at the start and also in the finish of the first sprint race.
Radim was the first driver also for the endurance race. He was driving in the third position and after half an hour he passed the car to Bartosz with a thirty seconds gap to second place. Bartosz was much faster than his opponent in second place and he was closing the gap lap by lap. When the clock at the start and finish straight showed there were no seconds left and the race was in its last lap, the gap was gone and Bartosz had the last few hundreds meters to move up one position. He managed to do so in the very last corner of the race and won second place in GTC1 class and also third in GTC class.
The last chapter of this ESET Cup season will be written on our home track in Brno on September 7th and 8th. We'll be happy to see you there
