Another racing weekend of the 2024 season took place in Most. This time, we didn't show up with our Audi RS3 LMS TCR, but the new weapon in our garage, Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. Despite we raced this car for the first time in an official race weekend, we collected a few trophies.
ESET Cup Series is an international circuit racing championship for Central and Eastern Europe. In its race weekends also the TCR Eastern Europe Championship takes place, which is the series we have been taking part in since it started. Next to TCR Audis, we bought a new car for this season. With the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, we can take part in the ESET Cup Series with a lot of other GT cars. The Porsche Cup cars have their own category GTC1 in the ESET Cup.
The race weekends consists of two qualifying sessions, two sprint races and one hour endurance race. Our drivers, Radim Adámek and Bartosz Groszek, divided the races into halves to each other. Each of them raced one sprint qualifying, one sprint race and a half of the endurance race.
Radim raced the first sprint. In qualifying, he set the fifth lap time in the GTC1 class. In the first sprint race he managed to gain two positions, finish on the podium and collect the first trophy of the weekend.
The other sprint race belonged to Bartosz, who became a father a few weeks back. All team members are very happy about this news and wish little Nikodem all the best. There is a saying in motorsport: When you become a father, your lap times are automatically one second slower. We couldn't see it in Bartosz's case, though. He won the second sprint qualifying and his best lap time was more than half a second faster than the lap time of the second driver. Bartosz even set the third best time in the whole ESET Cup. He repeated the same result also in the race. Next to the trophy for the win in the GTC1 class, he added one more for the second place in the GTC class.
Also in the endurance race our crew was near the podium. After starting from second place in the class, they unfortunately dropped down two places and crossed the finish line in fourth place, close to the podium.
We would like to thank all the team members for their great work, but also for being a second family, which we're very happy to spend time with during the race weekends.
